2024

October 7th we presented on sextortion to the Central Kitsap Kiwanis.

September 27th we presented to three classes of Port Townsend High School on identifying sex traffickers and keeping safe on the Internet.  

August 8th we presented to the Kingston Kiwanis on sextortion and our project to supply Christmas gifts to the Independent Living youth in Olive Crest's ILS program this year.

June 10 Gene updated the North Kitsap Anti-Drug Coalition on criminals using AI against teens.

Mar 7 Gene presented to a group of teen and community leaders on current Internet dangers including, suicide, sextortion, fake nudes, trafficking.

2023

Dec 14 Gene presented to the South Kitsap Anti-Drug Coalition.

Dec 11 Gene presented to the North Kitsap Anti-Drug Coalition.

Dec 6th we fielded a team of volunteers and shopped for Christmas presents for 40 independently living youth in the Olive Crest ILS program. On the 7th we presented 40 gifts in gift bags to Olive Crest.

October 20th 6:00-7:30 we had useful materials at the Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue station near the fairgrounds. The event was hosted by the Kitsap County Parent Coalition.

July 27th we met with representatives of Joyce Meyer Ministries.

July 13th Gene presented on sextortion to the Bremerton  Anti-drug coalition.

July 10th Gene presented on sextortion to the North Kitsap Anti-drug coalition.

May 2nd Sandy presented Trafficking Risk to Foster Children to foster parents. 

March 10th Gene presented to the Bremerton Anti-drug Coalition about Mental Health and social media.

2022

In November we presented Keep Children Safe on the Internet via Microsoft Meetings to Foster Groups across Washington state. 

October 25th and 26th we presented Traffickers Recruit Children with Disabilities to a group of concerned professionals. 

August 2nd we gave away 75 Internet safety books at the National Night Out, at Haselwood YMCA in Silverdale Washington.

March 28th Gene presented to the Inspire group in Lodi via Zoom about keeping children safe on the Internet. This was a closed meeting.

March 9th Gene presented to the local Native American Tribe about keeping children safe on the Internet. The tribe is purchasing a copy of our book on Internet safety for each family. This was a closed Zoom meeting.

2021


December 9th Sandy presented How to Identify a Trafficking Victim to the Bremerton Kiwanis Club.

October 29th Gene presented Keep Children Safe on the Internet in a closed Zoom meeting for the Kitsap Health Services.

August 11, Gene presented on a Shared Hope webinar three things technology could do to protect children online. He presented four issues, three current solutions and three proposals. There is a link on the Blog page to replay the webinar.

April 21st Gene presented Keep Children Safe on the Internet in a Zoom meeting for Without Permission, an anti-trafficking group in Modesto, CA.

April 17th at 2:00 pm PDT, Sandy screened Chosen a documentary about two girl's experiences in trafficking. She gave an overview of Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking and answer questions. 

January 18th, we presented to Hope Initiative in Lodi Ca, about Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking and How to Keep Children Safe on the Internet in a Zoom meeting.

2020:

January 22nd presented to the Central Kitsap Church of Christ for Human Trafficking Awareness Month.

April 6th, 10 am to 5 pm Gene and Sandy sold their books at the Washington State History Museum in Tacoma to benefit Freedom13.

April 6th 6 pm Gene and Sandy are being interviewed about their books and Freedom13 on BKAT by the Kitsap Literary Artists and Writers. That's channel 12 on Comcast and channel 3 on WaveCable.

February 6th Freedom13 is presented at the Circle of Friends 11th Anniversary Celebration.

January 21st Freedom13 had an information table at the Martin Luther King Celebration at the Marvin Williams Center, Bremerton.

October 21st, 12:30 pm, State Capital Steps, Olympia. Gene and Shared Hope showed support for oral arguments in a lawsuit against Backpage.com, the leading advertiser of children for sex in the US.

September 30th spoke to Right Choice about child sex trafficking and showed the movie Chosen.

Freedom13 had a resource table. SEPEC is a Special Education Parent/Professional Advisory Council who provide information and support for parents, advocates, and anyone who works with students with special needs.

April 5th, Gene showed the movie Chosen and spoke at the Faith Fellowship Men's Retreat on protecting children from the dangers of minor sex trafficking.

April 1st, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Poulsbo Library Freedom13 held a meeting for anyone interested in volunteering to help bring awareness about the child sex trafficking issues in America. 

March 11th, met with Lutheran Women in Snohomish about minor sex trafficking.

March 8th, Kitsap County’s 3rd Annual Women’s Day Retreat at Gateway Fellowship, 18901 8th Ave NE, Poulsbo, WA. Spoke on minor sex trafficking and gave away resource materials to protect kids.
